Candlelight Inn in Scarsdale

This tiny, cash only place seems to be extremely popular with the locals and the students, as there is usually some sort of wait. The portions are large, the staff is friendly, and the hours are late- perfect for a hangover recharge or a late night snack run. The wings here are decent, but the main appeal is the ginormous size of the things. Spice level was definitely on the mild-medium side, so I’d go for a hotter level if you like to sweat a little. The waffle fries are decent as well. The space honestly feels a little tight (especially with the large number of patrons), but if you’re with good company you won’t really notice. The parking lot is also usually full.

This place is always busy. The wings are good with any sauce. Service is quick, especially when you order out. My only critique about this place is the CASH ONLY policy. If this place has this policy then why charge tax. Tax is charged, which of course just like every business, but you can't use your debit and/or credit card, so why the charge tax. Maybe I'm seeing this wrong and someone could explain this to me. If this doesn't bother you, then yes this place has awesome wings. I can't be a hypocrite, I'm just wonder on the tax.

Hand's down my fav place for Wings. Always fresh. They give a good portion. There is a wait time on the weekends but it's worth it. Cheese waffle fries are BOMB and so fresh.

This is my go-to place for fast affordable great food I only use them for the takeout service because I have a separate building

This place has some of the best wings in the area. It is small so the seating is limited and there is usually a wait during peak lunch and dinner times. The wings are meaty and big. It is cash only so bring money. This includes the take out area which is across the parking lot. I would suggest calling in take out orders and then picking it up. The staff is always friendly. Parking in the lot can be tight.

I go here from Manhattan, wait in the line sometimes for an hour, that’s how good this place is.All the food is good, but you gotta have the wings here, the best :)

Cool little bar and pub restaurant just outside the city. It’s usually pretty packed here and small inside. So expect to wait for sure. The service is good, and fast. The wings are really good as well. But they are huge. So don’t go overboard with ordering food. It tends to be slot than you think. I’d certainly come back here again.

Best wing spot ever!!!! Be patient. It will be worth it ! Make sure you write down your name on the list as soon as you get there. I like my wings crispy. My favorite wings are the honey bourbon wings. Beers are cold. The waitress nice but they are always in the rush. Its understandable because the place is always full!

The food was amazing. Much better than I was expecting. The service is top notch, as there is someone around to help you out. It was crowded so you know the food had to be good. The restaurant is a little small but more than enough space for everyone. All in all I would definitely come back here again

Awesome chicken wings. I don't need to say much more. You wont be disappointed

This is the world-famous Candlelight Inn, makers of the world's best hot wings. This restaurant offers both an Americana eatery slightly separated from a well-stocked bar. The main attraction, however, is arguably the chicken wings. You can order their crisp chicken wings from mild to the insane yet delicious "Chernoble" level heat wings. The venue is an unassuming red house on the southbound side of Central Avenue. It might be located in the Scarsdale section of the avenue, but prices are reasonable. It can be quite crowded at times and waiting space cramped, well worth the wait. The dining section is family-friendly. Eating at the bar while having a cold suds is also welcome.

I love the food but felt extremely uncomfortable about the atmosphere. There was no addressing social distancing in the parking lot during the pandemic. Tons of people waiting for food without masks would have liked it if they had been stricter about keeping people safe.

Besides some of the ladies attitudes here the food is actually really good. And service is great sometimes.

If you are looking for a great wing spot then Candlelight Inn is the place for you! This establishment haves some great food and dessert. The wings, mozzarella sticks, waffle fries, and the cookie and ice cream is good here. This place is usually busy certain time of the day. However, they do provide a take out service and free parking. The only negative thing about this place is that the food maybe a little over priced, but it’s not that bad.

Best tasting chicken wings in NYC. When you’ve been doing it for over 50 years you know you doing something right.

For having take out the food was pretty good. Would like to try it dine In style.

Love this place... not fancy, a neighborhood institution with great food! Homemade soups are always great.... fabulous wings and the burgers are delicious. There can be a wait when it’s busy but that is also part of the atmosphere... it’s like you don’t really mind the wait... order a drink and just chill!!!

Probably the best wings this side of the Hudson. The dry rub wings are crispy and delicious, and the hot teriyaki is something I don't think I've seen anywhere else. It's cash only and there is often a wait, however the wings are so good I would still rate an emphatic 5 stars.

What can you say about Candlelight that hasn’t already been said? It’s a local institution known for chicken wings but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.The famous chicken wings as I mentioned come as pieces...meaning the leg and wing are still attached. Can’t go wrong with mild or spicy. There’s is a “Chernobyl” option, but I haven’t been brave enough to vogue for that. Also recently realized their ribs...are AMAZING. (If you don’t need a wet nap by the time you’re done you’re doing it wrong!)Other important notes: the prices are great but the establishment is CASH ONLY! It’s also very popular in the area so expect a wait if you go during peak hours. There’s also a bar at the front which is great for a beer and few TVs for the game.

Waiting is insanely long. More than 1 hour. Chicken wings are big, sauce delicious, honey bourbon BBQ my favorite, great smoked flavor. Still not sure if worth the wait...

Love the Food! Everything I've tried here is fantastic, when you go to have to get the wings! There is also a great beer selection on tap. They are Cash Only so make sure you stop by the ATM.

It was a very long wait to get a table. Everyone was raving about the wings so I couldn't wait to try them. I ordered the extra hot and it was pretty mild keep in mind I do truly enjoy spicy food. The wings were freshly made, temperature wise hot, the taste however lacked flavor. The table next to us said they come every week and today was the first their food also didn't taste good. I will give it a try again as I'm told their open until 3 am.Update- went back and although I called ahead I still had to wait 30 minutes for food to be ready. My fries were burnt and people were dining in there outside section. Every table was packed. No regards for social distancing. The front desk/cashier also didn’t have on a mask she occasionally pulled her shirt over her face. The staff that was walking around and the older woman who seemed to be manager also had no mask.

Good food, terrible people. If you must taste some of their buffalo wings (which is literally just texas pete buffalo sauce with butter) then make sure you don’t order take out or delivery. As someone that’s tried to give them the benefit of the doubt they always make it seem like they’re doing you a favor after messing up your order 100% of the time. Trust me their food isn’t good enough to justify their poor treatment towards their customers. Avoid at all costs.

My order was for delivery and I ordered the wings with terriyaki sauce on side and the seasoned waffle fries with cheese sauce on the side and it was so delicious!!! When I received my order everything was nice and hot and I truly enjoyed every bite!!!

So far this place has been heaven on earth (Britney Spears) it's so good. I haven't tried everything just yet but what I've tried so far has been amazing. The place is usually very packed super often and it's usually a nice little wait to get seated but you can order your food to go if you dont want to wait to sit down. Food is amazing. If your wondering if you should eat here or not... stop wondering and get some delicious wings or legs!
